History of Freeland, Pa.
Freeland area mercantile listings

What's on this page:
  • 1876 Foster and Butler townships
On related pages:

The earliest mercantile listings I've seen for the Freeland area so far come from 1876 and don't mention Freeland, although the Koons and Lindsay businesses in Foster Township were in Freehold, which would that year be incorporated as Freeland. Thanks to Ed Merrick for finding this.

I have made separate pages for subsequent mercantile listings, and they show growing numbers of businesses being listed. I think there were other small businesses that were not listed. Note that some of those later lists as I received or found them only list Freeland businesses, while others also list others in the area, such as Foster Township, Butler Township, Jeddo Borough. The 1907 list breaks out businesses by ward. Thanks to Matt Thompson, Ed Merrick and Trina Bartel for contributions to this section.
