The 1890 ad from the Freeland Tribune at top left shows that Henry Stunz not only had a boots and shoes store but he also did repairs.

This 1894 ad for C. F. Hiney's shoe repair comes from Ed Merrick; he wasn't listed in the directories for shoe repair. In 1895 a Charles F. Hiney in South Heberton sold insurance, but I don't know if this is the same person. The detail at right from the 1895 Sanborn Fire Insurance map shows a cobbler located near the south end of Ridge Street, someone who was not listed in the 1895 directory as a cobbler/shoemaker at that address.

The detail at right from the 1905 Sanborn Fire Insurance map shows Henry Stunz's shop on Ridge and Chestnut streets labeled boots and shoes and also cobbler. He was listed in the 1897 directory and also in directories of the 1920s. (I don't know why he's not in the 1900-1901 directory.) See 19th-century shoe stores for more about his business.
