A&P fire of 1974

The A&P store had been a mainstay of Freeland for a long time, one of two supermarkets in the center of town, the other being Genetti's a block and a half away. Before that, the building was Krell's Hall and the Yannes Opera House (see page on Opera houses). In recent years this site at the corner of Front and Washington Streets has been occupied by the Convenience Mart.
