Aatish Gupta

I am currently a Master's student at Carnegie Mellon University in the Mechanical Engineering Department. I am advised by Prof. Taylor (Microsystems and Mechanobiology Lab). My research objective is to refine the performance of milliswimmers and centiswimmers through geometric optimizations. Prior to entering the MS-Research program at CMU, I obtained my Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering at Rowan University in Glassboro, NJ. More information can be found on LinkedIn.

Current Projects

Optimization of milliswimmers and centiswimmers through surface optimization.

Previous Experience

Student Researcher -- Rowan University Feb 2022 - Sep 2023

I assisted Dr. Mitja Trkov and his graduate students in soft robotics research. I fabricated modular, multi-material soft robotic actuators designed by Dr. Nand Singh.

Mechanical Engineering Intern -- Ellenby Technologies May 2022 - Aug 2022

I assisted in the development of novel retail cash management solutions. This involved contacting international and domestic suppliers to get quotes and technical information, creating technical drawings using CAD, doing statics simulations on 3D models I created, building prototypes from scratch, testing prototypes, and communicating all of the aforementioned work verbally and through writing.

Studio Technician at Studio231 -- Rowan University Sep 2021 - May 2022

I helped students to use design thinking, rapid prototyping, 3D printing, and many other tools to turn their ideas into a reality. I also led class demonstrations and events pertaining to Innovation and Entrepreneurship (I&E).
