90-756 Fund Raising for Arts Managers

Prerequisite: 90-757 Principles of Arts Marketing Fund Raising for the Arts Managers will survey the strategies, tools and techniques involved in generating contributed income for arts organizations from government agencies, foundations corporations, businesses and private individuals. Students will be exposed to the research methods involved in developing donor prospects, and will learn a variety of techniques used for soliciting contributions, including direct mail, telemarketing, grant proposals, personal appeals, special events, capital campaigns, endowment campaigns and sponsorships. Over the course of the semester students will prepare a campaign timetable, proposal and contribution appeals all of which will be assembled and resubmitted at the end of the semester as a final project.
