This course will explore in depth the work of significant imagemakers W. Eugene Smith, Helen Levitt, Diane Arbus, Robert Frank, Minor White, Lee Friedlander, Olivia Parker, William Wegman, Cindy Sherman, Vik Muniz, and others. Students will participate in all discussions and will make two presentations for the class, one of which will be accompanied by a written paper. Two class periods will be held off campus at local museums and gallaries.
