67-325 Special Topics: Global Systems Delivery Models

This course introduces the business context and mechanics of outsourcing information technology, including offshore outsourcing. Students will learn how outsourcing works in practice and will study the economic, social, political impacts of outsourcing. The course will be taught in partnership with Cognizant Technology Solutions, an organization whose core business value is providing outsourcing services in the IT sector. Classroom lectures and video conferencing to the Cognizant center in India will expose students to a range of perspectives. A combination of weekly readings, writing assignments and a project will be required.
