General Instructions for Using MacGamut

General Note: To use MacGamut you do not need to own your own computer, but you do need to own your own copy of the software (it's only $40).

Instructions for All Users

Before using MacGamut, you will need to register your copy of the software. Do this by visiting www.macgamut.com and following the registration instructions. You will need the registration number on the face of your CD.

You will then receive a file on email that will serve as a key each time you start the program. As you will need this file, either leave this email in your account or else download the file into your network space (possibly the most convenient).

For those of you who don't own your own computer, or who want to practice at the con, you can use your personal copy of MacGamut on any of the machines in the con lab.

Instructions for Con Lab Users.

Each time you use MacGamut you will need to insert the CD. You can then start the program.

After you double click on the program you will be asked to find your key. Either navigate to your network space or else download it onto the machine you are working on. (Please delete your key after each use. This will be a safeguard against unauthorized use of the program. It will also protect data about your use of the program, as this is stored in the key file. [For this reason saving it to your network space is the ideal solution.])

Remember to bring your own headphones to the lab so that you don't disturb other people who are working there.
