This workshop is designed for students who understand the fundamentals of screenwriting and are ready to plan and write a three-act screenplay. Students will spend half of the semester planning their projects. The first major assignment will be the treatment, which will be discussed in class and in conference. Next will be a scene-by-scene outline. By mid-semester everyone should be starting to write. Scenes from student screenplays will be critiqued in class. Students will also read produced scripts and view movies, focusing in particular on story structure, and write critical papers.
