This course helps music graduate students identify, use, and understand basic music reference materials. It is designed to be helpful to students interested in any aspect of graduate study: performance, theory and composition, history and literature, conducting, education, etc. Students learn to gather, correctly cite, and organize information. Emphasis is also placed on proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation. As a final project, students are asked to write program notes. No prerequisite.
