51-714 (grads) Solar Decathlon 2005 Solar Decathlon 05 is open to ID students in their junior and senior years, as well as MPD students. The course will take the work completed by the fall senior studio "Energy costs in products: the Solar Decathlon" as a starting point, but will focus on design resolution, specification, detailing, and fabrication issues. Specifically, this involves the appliances, fixtures, casework, and infrastructure for the competition houses' kitchen and bathroom spaces. These projects will be displayed in the Pittsburgh Synergy house during the Solar Decathlon competition, to be held on the National Mall in Washington D.C. next September. Please see www.eere.energy.gov/solar_decathlon for more details.
