
Eli Zenkov
Research associate
Eli is from Phoenix, Arizona. He spent a year working in the Translational Genomics Research institute in his home state, studying the genetic causes of neurodevelopmental and neurodegenerative diseases, with a focus on autism research. He joined the LeDuc Lab in the Fall of 2009, received his Bachelor of Science degree in the Biological Sciences from Carnegie Mellon University in 2010, and has stayed on to investigate the genetic underpinnings of the magnetoreception of Magnetospirillum magneticum AMB-1. He is also studying recombinant applications of this magnetotactic bacteria from a biosensors perspective.
