I am currently in the process of developing nano-composite membrane with the incooperation of  magnetite (Fe3O4) nanocolloid to mitigate the membrane fouling. The synthesized nano-composite membrane is expected to reduce the membrane fouling issue by physical magnetic actuation of magnetite (Fe3O4) particles on membrane surface. This study focusing on (i) functionalized of magnetite (Fe3O4) nanoparticles, (ii) Study the interaction between Fe3O4 and polymeric membrane via Quartz Crystal Microbalance with Dissipation (QCM-D), (iii) Develop magnetic nano-composite membrane, (iv) investigate and optimize the effects of membrane defouling parameters via a wastewater treatment unit, and, (v) Translate the fouling mechanism of synthesise nano-composite membrane into mathematical model.
