The NBER/NSF/CEME Conference on Mathematical Economics brings together leading researchers in economic theory for two days of presentations, discussion, and informal exchange. The 2026 meeting will be hosted by the Tepper School of Business at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh.

The program will feature contributed papers, alongside a keynote address by Dirk Bergemann (Yale University).

The conference is supported by the National Bureau of Economic Research and the National Science Foundation.

Dirk Bergemann

Douglass and Marion Campbell Professor of Economics, Yale University

Dirk Bergemann is the Douglass and Marion Campbell Professor of Economics at Yale University, with secondary appointments in Computer Science and Finance. He is the founding director of the Center for Algorithms, Data, and Market Design at Yale (CADMY), a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and of the Econometric Society, and a former chair of the Yale Department of Economics.

His research lies in mechanism design, information design, and the economics of data and digital platforms. The title of his keynote address will be announced.

Submissions.

We invite submissions in economic theory, broadly defined. This includes papers in microeconomic theory as well as adjacent fields such as macroeconomics, finance, and labor. The conference will also feature a special session in Economics and Computation (EconCS), highlighting recent developments in the area and fostering collaboration across fields.

A modest budget is available to support travel expenses for speakers.
