Modeling

We are going to model the shaft by creating a block volume. Go to

Preprocessor --> Create --> Block --> By Centr, Cornr, Z

The coordinate will start at the center of the block on the top surface.

The dimension of the shaft is as follows:

L = 120 in, d = t = 20 in.

If it is difficult to view the shaft from current view, go to

Menu--> PlotCtrls --> Pan Zoom Rotate...

Then rotate the block however you would like. A handy shortcut to

rotate the object is to hold the Ctrl key on the keyboard down while

dragging the object around with the left, right buttons on the mouse.
