What's up?

My name is Vijay Viswanathan and I am a member of the Class of 2016 at Carnegie Mellon University in sunny Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I am currently planning on majoring in mathematics, and I hope to add some computer science to my education as well.

I am motivated by interesting or unsolved problems in mathematics and computer science, both in theory and application. I also draw inspiration from the successes of others.

Academically, I'm interested in math and CS research, as well as in social enterprise, particularly in computational approaches to medicine. Otherwise, I have tried to empower those with handicaps, and I am hoping to possibly try some projects in education with technology as well.

In my free time, I love playing Ultimate Frisbee, competing in public speaking or debate, exploring my Hindu heritage as well as other religions and cultures, and meeting other people who are passionate about innovation.
