For the first time, I'm working with metal. I chose a metal deck as subfloor for the new vestibule because it reduces the structural depth of the floor assembly significantly.
In the end, the floor will be only 3" thick from the underside to the top of the finish, leaving me with 6'-2" of headroom from the garage floor; i. e. I won't have to bend when I step underneath.
