Gen Ed: fulfills DCR3 This is not a workshop, but an introduction to the craft of creative writing. The class will read individual collections of poetry and fiction by contemporary authors in addition to a variety of essays written by poets and writers on the craft. A small percentage of class time will be spent on the critique of student poems, and original student writing and critical papers will represent much of the grade. Attendance and participation in class and at public readings are expected.
