The Carnegie Tech Radio Club is open to all Carnegie Mellon students, faculty, and staff with an interest in amateur radio. We are the third-oldest student organization on campus, having existed since 1914.

We meet monthly during the school year and offer regular amateur radio licensing exam sessions on campus for the Carnegie Mellon community and the general public. Our radio shack on top of Hamerschlag Hall boasts equipment and antennas capable of communicating around town and around the world using voice, video, digital modes, and yes, even Morse code. In addition, we provide safety communication for campus events, most notably the annual Buggy races.

Interested in joining us? To become a member, you simply need to attend one club meeting and one other club event, such as a "get-on-the-air" night in the shack or one of our weekly Buggy safety nets. If you don't have your own radio equipment, you can borrow ours.
