 Scope of
Course

This course is the second section of the two-semester sequence on computational engineering. Students will learn how computation and information technologies are rapidly changing the way engineering design is practiced in industry. The course covers the theories and applications of the modeling, simulation, and optimization of the performance of a product and its manufacturing process.  The three topics covered in this course are: (1) Engineering Analysis, (2) Engineering Optimization, (3) Factory Automation.  Students taking this course are assumed to have knowledge of the first course in computer programming.
4 hrs lecture, 2 hrs computer cluster hours
