Due to the demolition of Skibo and the Reconstruction of the
University Center, AB Comedy has had to take a two year hiatus due to
lack of space to support a big comedy event. Formerly, part of AB
Coffeehouse, AB Comdey is now its own committee and has its own budget.
AB Comedy is dedicated to providing quality comics to the Carnegie
Mellon community that appeal to the humorous side of a diverse crowd.
This year AB Comedy produced two shows that were extremely
successful. Scott Papacuri and Mark Moran were huge hits and delighted
the viewers. This spring, AB comedy will be presenting two shows. A
smaller, which is planned for the first part of March, is tenitively
scheduled to appear in the Skibo Coffeehouse. A larger show is planned
to happen in the later part of the Spring.
CMU Homecoming - 1996
Carnegie Mellon University kicked off it's annual Homecoming weekend this year by getting comedian Marc Moran to perform in front of an enthusiastic crowd of students, faculty, and alumni alike. On Friday, October 25 at 10pm, Marc got on stage to a cheering crowd of people in the Weigand Gymnasium in the new University Center. Since the show was free - sponsored by the Student Activities Fee and the Homecoming Committee - it wasn't a surprise that there was such a large turn-out. The talent that Marc showed proved to everyone that the weekend of fun had just begun.
Originally from Princeton, New Jersey Marc Moran has seen his fair share of the road. And why not? He's had what some might call more than just a successful carreer in the comedy business. He has appeared on television in such shows as Evening at the Improv and Comedy on the Road to name a few. But it doesn't stop there. He has appeared in clubs all over America. From the Comic Stip in El Paso to A Comic Cafe in Atlanta to our very own Carnegie Mellon University.
By the end of the show it was apparant that a good time was had by all and that the AB Comedy and Homecoming Committe had a job well done. Marc was very happy that he could make us all laugh and smile even if it was for only an hour and a half. And we were more than delighted that he could come to CMU and brighten our night.

They kept the jerky in a refrigerator case. Man, if you've got to store your jerky in a refrigerator......
you made it wrong!"
