Hello, my name is Yuan Chen, and I am a Ph.D. candidate at Carnegie Mellon University in the department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. I am advised by José Moura and Soummya Kar. Currently, my research focuses on secure decision making and resilient analytics for the Internet of Things. My broad interests lie in statistical inference, control theory, machine learning, and optimization.
Before joining CMU, I received my B.S.E. degree in Electrical Engineering from Princeton University. My senior thesis studied cascade adaptive filters for acoustic echo cancellation.
Outside of work, I am an avid guitar player, and I enjoy playing ultimate frisbee. Teams on which I have played include Princeton Clockwork Orange and Mr. Yuk (Carnegie Mellon). I served as head coach of Mr. Yuk from 2016 to 2018.
