Our current Design:
"The Flailing Frog"
Top left motor acts as hind legs that move in unison to propel the robot forwards or backwards.
The two motors on the bottom right act as the two independently moving front arms that dictate direction of motion and also provide dexterity in the face of harsh 2" high obstacles.
Control setup is that of dual joysticks, one on each arm, controlling the corresponding arms with both joysticks driving the hind legs.
Previous Design #1 - Quadruped Rhex
Because Rhex wheel leg designs were approved, we went for the quadruple-spoked legged design. Veto'd last minute by administrators because they were jealous of our pro-l33t-skillz.
Previous Design #2 - The Serpentine
THIS ROBOT WAS TO REVOLUTIONIZE THE LEGGED RACES BUT INTERFERENCE FROM OUTSIDE ETHEREAL MALEVOLENTS DISRUPTED THE DESIGN PROCESS AND RUINED IT. WE WERE UNABLE TO CONTINUE!!
