"Stabat Mater" was commissioned by the Diocese of Greensburg (Pennsylvania) as part of the 2025 Jubilee Year of Hope as declared by Pope Francis on Christmas Eve 2024. The work premiered in May 2025 at the Blessed Sacrament Cathedral along with Galbraith's "Passion According to Saint Matthew." The text is taken from the traditional hymn "At the Cross Her Station Keeping."
