program notes: "Reflections" is a chamber work in four movements written for Amy Galbraith (the composer's daughter) for her doctoral recital at West Virginia University in the spring of 2010. The work was premiered earlier at Chatham University, and will be recorded for the composer's next album.
Ms. Galbraith has completed oboe performance degrees at Ohio University (BM) and the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (MM), and is near completion of a DMA at West Virginia University. In the past 10 years Ms. Galbraith has been in great demand as a performer on oboe and English horn, frequently appearing in Pittsburgh-area symphonic and chamber ensembles, and as a soloist. Currently she is teaching oboe and music classes at Mahidol University in Thailand
