reviews:

She writes in a tonal post-minimalist style recognizable by its rhythmic groove, higly saturated instrumental color, and genial, laid-back tone. Galbraith has a real gift for working with (and not over-working) syncopated rhythms—I found it easy to get hooked on them. Her music is worth your time if you have any passing interest in post-minimalism.
— American Record Guide

Galbraith's recent concertos are expert creations. Abetted by abundantly talented soloists and the skillful advocacy and playing of BMOP under Rose, this release is highly recommended.

composer's notes:

These three concerti were all premiered by soloists, conductors, and musicians with whom I have enjoyed personal relationships as friends and/or colleagues at Carnegie Mellon University and elsewhere in the Pittsburgh area. The three soloists on this recording are the women who performed those premieres.
