I'm a cognitive scientist interested in questions at the intersection of language acquisition and language evolution. I also think a lot about meta-scientific issues in psychology. I use a range of methods including experiments, meta-analysis, NLP techniques, and analysis of large-scale extant datasets.
Currently, I am a Special Faculty at Carnegie Mellon University in the Department of Psychology, and Department of Social and Decision Sciences. I received my PhD in Developmental Psychology from Stanford University where I worked with Mike Frank. Before that, I received my undergraduate degree in Linguistics from Reed College.
