Men's Soccer (3-1, 0-0)

Freshman Matt DiGiacomo (Charlottesville, Va./Albemarle) scored two goals in the first half. Ben Kartzman made five saves, giving him his second shutout of the season.

Carnegie Mellon beat Baldwin-Wallace by a score of 4-0. Sophomore David Zupon (Pittsburgh, Pa/Upper St. Clair) scored three first half goals securing the Carnegie Mellon victory. John Petrillo's, team high, fifth assist came on the Tartans second goal. Ben Kartzman earned his third shutout of the season with two saves.

Women's Soccer (3-2-1, 0-0)

Carnegie Mellon collected two victories in row last week. On Wednesday, freshman Melissa McMarrow's (San Jose, Calif./ Archbishop Mitty) goal and assist lead the Tartans to victory over Marietta. McMarrow was also named the UAA Offensive Player of the Week. Junior defender Kim Celone (Wallingford, Conn./Mark T. Sheehan) assisted freshman Susan Pevovar (Silverdale, Wash./Central Kitsap) third goal of the season. Maya Nigroch (Worcester, Mass/Worchester Academy) earned her second shutout of the season.

Saturday, Junior Christy Kelly (New Providence, N.J./Oak Knoll) scored in the fifth minute by putting away a pass from sophomore Ashley Wermine (West River, Md./Southern). Romy Fischer (Missouri City, Texas/Elkins) scored after Katie Snell's (Beavercreek, Ohio/Beavercreek) rebounded off the goalkeeper.

Men's Cross Country

Carnegie Mellon hosted Case Western University, Geneva, and Grove City College in this weekend's cross-country meet. The Tartans won the meet by placing in the top three positions. Senior Ken Oldham (Salem, Ore/McNary) placed first with a time of 25:50. Senior Bryan Meyer (Troy, Mi./Troy Athens) placed second with 26:05 time and sophomore Matt Dederline (Newport Beach, Calif./Corona Del Mar) placed third with a 26:19 time. Carnegie Mellon Men's cross-country team is ranked 17th in the country.

Women's Cross Country

The women cross country team also competed against Case Western University, Geneva College, and Grove City College at Schenley Park, in Pittsburgh. Carnegie Mellon placed first amongst the four schools. Sophomore, oke Cutler (Altadena, Calif./Polytechnic) won her third consecutive race with a time of 18:51. Teammates Anea Byrnes (Chesterton, Ind./Chesterton) finished second with a time of 19:09 and
