The presentation examines a quick progression of free speech in the US as a background. It will then focus upon the rapid spread of technology and usage of the internet as a meduim of communication. The extent to which free speech should be allowed, the responsibility that people have for their words, and the problems associated with this topic are addressed as well as the personal opinions of the group members. The background is limited to the United States due to time constraints and the main portion of the project will focus upon the internet because of its relevance as a medium of communication to modern society.
