What this is
This is my personal website. For this assignment, I chose to focus on making a personal website because I've never made one. This website will help you get to know me. You can navigate this website through the navigation bar at the top which will lead you to different pages. I hope you will get to know me better as a person through this website! Concerning choices in making this website, I chose to make this website with pink as the main color and a pastels color theme because these are my favorite colors. I chose this font called "Gaegu" from Google Fonts because I thought it matched with the color theme -- both give off a cute and soft feeling. Additionally, after trying out a few other fonts such as Crafty_Girl and The_Girl_Next_Door, I felt like Gaegu made words and numbers clearest.
Hihi I'm Cathy!! I was born on May 13th, 2003, in Tianjin China. I am from Yingkou, a small city in northeastern China. I was raised by my grandma. To the left is a picture of us :) Unlike most kids, I didn' go to preschool or kindergarden. Before elementary school, I just stayed at home with my grandma. We would stroll outside or go to parks instead of school. My mom told me that when I was supposed to be going to preschool, I had major separation issues, so my grandma would take me on a stroll outside the preschool. Maybe because I didn't go to preschool, when I was young I didn't have a lot of friends my age. But I had so much fun doing nothing with my grandma. This picture was taken when we went to the biggest and only attraction in Yingkou.
I went to elementary school in Chapel Hill, NC, when my mom was at UNC Chapel Hill.
I didn't go to school that much
my dad would often bring my grandma to visit my mom and I, and we would skip school to go travelling. We loved going to Hawaii -- we went more than 10 times during my elementary school, and we would go back there every winter after that.
I loved horseback riding as a kid. This was taken when I first fell in love with the sport -- at a horseback riding camp in NC. This was the first time I ever rode a horse and I loved the silent bond between me and the horse. He was so much bigger than me, yet so graceful. I gradually gave up riding as I grew older though.
