This summer, I was very lucky to be able to participate in many fun activities and travel!
My family and I went on vacation for a week in Aruba during the month of June. I had a great time relaxing at the pool and beach, and my sister and I enjoyed paddleboarding and kayaking.
Kusama is one of my favorite artists, so I was really excited to see her work at the New York Botanical Garden in the Bronx. Seeing her work in real life was really spectacular, and I could not believe the amazing scale of her work.
I picked up two new hobbies over the summer, including punch-needle work/tufting and gardening!
I had been very interested in learning how to make rugs, so when I had some spare time this summer, I decided to finally try it out. My first project was a wall-hanging/medium-sized rug for my sister's birthday. I was happy with the way it turned out and decided to make a few smaller pieces after that rug, including an egg and mushrooms.
My mom enjoys gardening and planted some fruits, vegetables, and flowers in our backyard. I liked helping her out with planting and watering the garden and would like to do more gardening in the future.
Overall, I had a very successful and restful summer. I enjoyed being able to take some time to recharge and connect with friends and family, as well as explore new interests and places. Aside from the activities and hobbies that I mentioned above, I was also able to get valuable internship experience through two jobs that I worked over the summer.
