I was the Senior Systems Manager for the
University Libraries at
Carnegie Mellon University until May 2000.
I started at Carnegie Mellon in 1989; while working full-time I took
advantage of CMU's benefits program and earned my BS in Computer Science.
Degree in hand, I left CMU to see how the rest of the world worked and began
working at Schwoo, a security services provider founded by folks from CMRI's
CyberSecurity Center. I used my knowledge of computer and network security to
help write applications to monitor and detect new exploits in the wild that
other NIDS didn't know about yet along with events that were not considered
"normal" activities.
Neat stuff! Unfortunately, since Schwoo recently filed
for bankruptcy and laid everybody off, I'm looking for a new job.
Apparently, that's how the rest of the world works....
Since I've worked with the Internet for over a decade, I've had lots of time
to discover a number of sites that have useful, fun, and/or interesting
information. Of those that still exist, I've selected some that I think
others would be interested in. I'm always interested in feedback if there's
something you think I might like that isn't on my pages.
