Made it just fine !
It was a long flight from Dulles airport to Doha. The picture above is from my monitor right in front of my seat. You can watch the in-flight progress of your trip on it. As you can see, we were just about 45 minutes from landing in Doha, just flying over Bahrain. Flying business class made it so much easier. I’ve never done that before. I could get really used to it. It was easy to catch a little sleep because the “pods” you get (self-contained seat, entertainment unit and minimal privacy unit) allow you to lay down completely and not be bothered by the airplane noise. You also get a noise cancellation headset that really works. Here’s a picture of a pair of pods near my seat. My estimate was that there were 40 business class seats on the whole plane.

Flight and Arrival in Doha
The image to the left is the building right across the street from my apartment building. I’ll have to get some pictures of the apartment, but right now it’s time to try to switch my internal clock 7 hours ahead. Doha time is EDT + 7 hours. I need to force myself to get to bed even though it’s only 3 PM Berget body time.
When we landed, we walked down the first class ramp (see picture to right) and took a minibus to the main airport building where we were indeed met by very nice people from the Al Maha Service who escorted us through the official business of getting our passports and visas checked. No searching of luggage, just x-rayed it.
