What is SOHO?

SOHO is Carnegie Mellon's GLBTQ Resource Center. We have a library of books and movies available. SOHO is a comfortable space where you can come to talk, eat your lunch, watch a movie, or just hang out. We have information on everything from coming out and safer-sex practices to local counseling centers, GLBTQ-friendly clubs, and support for friends and family. If you need something, we can help, and if we can't, we can point you in the right direction.

SOHO's Component Organizations

SOHO is Carnegie Mellon's LGBTQ Resource Center and all-encompassing organization overseen by GLBT Programming Coordinator Helen Wang and two GLBT Issues Interns, Ellen and Jennifer. ALLIES is the primary GLBTQ political and social organization on campus. ALLIES uses the SOHO facilities for meetings, events, and office purposes. Check out ALLIES here. cmuOUT was a primarily social GLBT organization, but within the last year cmuOUT has been made defunct and ALLIES has absorbed its responsibilities. The Safezone program is also run out of the SOHO office.
