Was Enron a good corporate citizen? Many pointed to its alleged attempts to win influence and favor by giving large campaign donations to many politicians. Some say that they had a hand in designing the Bush Administration energy policy by getting preferential treatment from Vice President Dick Cheney. Still others point to the charitable giving done by the firm as a sign of its socially responsible efforts. This section examines this aspect of Enron’s corporate citizenship.
