  2. Brutes don't have rights. (assumption)
  3. Women have rights. (assumption for indirect proof)
  4. Therefore, brutes have rights. (1,3 Modus Ponens) [aha! a contradiction]
  5. Therefore, either premise 1, 2 or 3 are incorrect.
