The Origin of Morality

Compare two binary oppositions:

1. Master Morality good*./bad

2. Slave Morality good/evil*
There are not equivalents.

The name 'slave morality' is Nietzsche's way of being highly provocative.
In the most important ways, the slave morality is superior to the master
morality. The name reflects his anti-Christian bias.

1. The master morality.
Start with what is strong, that is good. By opposition we get what is bad (=weak)

The Values of Masters
Strength is good Weakness is bad

2. The Slave Morality
Start with what is weak (=good). By opposition, we get what is strong (=evil).

There are two differences between the argument for 1 and 2.

The slave morality reverses the valuation of the masters
	And thus reveals superior intelligence

The slave morality is reactive-i.e. it creates values by going against the master
morality.

In a real sense, the master morality is not a morality at all, but merely a way
of describing the world.

The great achievement of 'the slaves' is to create a morality.
The slaves are those who become clever
If this reactive morality is mistaken, it is also creative
Creating a morality is like making a work of art
