Description

This course introduces fundamentals of basic skills that are important in the design of web pages. Students are introduced to various web tools and concepts that are related to communication design, through hands-on exercises as well as lectures. Topics include basic web programming concepts, computer graphics, information structure, analysis of design problems and developing rich web content using standard web tools. No prior web programming experience is required.
 

Requirements Students are expected to complete 10 web exercises (labs), weekly critiques, as well as a midterm and final project.
 
Grades Grades will depend on the web exercises (60%), class participation (10%), midterm project (15%), and a final project (15%).

Your exercises will be evaluated based on:
  • completeness of your projects
  • your understanding of basic web concepts
  • quality of your visual and interaction design
