The wind blowing through your hair, a dog barking, the scent of pine...When you are going for a walk do you pay attention to what is around you? For my project I, Kristin Odell, went for a walk with my friends, Chantel Kemerer and Michelle Valot, and Chantel's dog, Bailey. I first had my dad drive me to Chantel's house with Michelle and that is where my (long) journey began...

...........................................................................................................

We first started out at Chantel's house. Bailey dragging us, excited to start the walk. We came upon this interesting sign right next door to her house. It says "No Hunting." Chantel has seen signs like this lots of times but I haven't...It reminds me of an old 'wanted for murder or theft' western sign.

. . .

This tree is really interesting. When you look at it you feel like you want to reach towards the sky like how the branches are pulling up...

. . .

Chantel: Hey Kristin, Go try to swim in that puddle. *points to the big puddle*

Kristin: *shrugs* Okay! YAY! *goes over and jumps in puddle with Bailey*

Everyone: *stare*

. . .

A path...not knowing where it would lead to...We stare in awe of how mysterious it is...Maybe it is leading to some far off land...or just to a farmer's field...we do not know...*shakes head*

Kristin: *stares*

Michelle and Chantel: *walks off leaving me behind*

. . .

This tree seems that it was here for a long time. As you can see the vine wraping around this tree, climbing to the top for it to stay alive not caring about the poor tree that it is using...

. . .

In 7th grade, Michelle and I had a teacher named Mr. Kunst, (a.k.a. Mr. K), we read this poem called "The Road Not Taken." It was about making choices. You could choose the easy path or the path that is full of obstacles. This picture reminded us of that poem...

. . .

Here is a close up of the tree that is next to the mail box in the previous picture.

. . .

This tree is very interesting. This is the 'first' tree that we have seen since we started out journey that had leaves still on it.

. . .

About around here, I started collecting objects to remind me of the things we did on our walk and this is what I had to say about the first object...

Kristin: *picks up a big prickly thing, tries to put it in a bag* *screams* OW! ow-ow-ow-ow-ow!! Prickly! It's going through the bag! >o<

Chantel: *sighs* *takes the bag from me* hey...It is going through the bag...

. . .

While I was looking though these pictures, I hadn't realized that Chantel (who was helping take pictures) took a picture of the bottom of this tree that remarkably looks like a bear.

. . .

Out here in this country, It is so peaceful. You can hear the gravel crunching beneath your feet, the birds chirping, the sound of Bailey barking at the snow, and all of a sudden you can hear Michelle scream while she falls down the hill...You have to love the country.

. . .

Can you see that dot in the middle of the picture? That my friend...is a hawk...

. . .

Another peaceful scene of the country...

. . .

This is Bailey and I playing in the snow. I have a snowball in my hand and Bailey really wants to eat it...

. . .

A wonderful view of a wooden plank nailed to a tree.

. . .

This is very interesting. This is a ribcage and spine of a deer. It looks like some of this animal was eaten by other animals since most of the bones of the deer are missing.

. . .

A creepy white van... In December on New Year's eve, It way after midnight when we went for a walk. When we got down to this part, we saw this white van. This was one of our conversations.

Michelle: This is creepy. I don't like this. It looks like one of those vans that kidnaps children. *very worried and scared*

Kristin: Oh, It's not that scary. *starts to scare Michelle and make fun of her*

- I get Michelle angry and she walks off. -

Kristin: *screams like a women that is about to be attacked*

Michelle: *beats up Kristin*

. . .

New grass popping up. The site of a frozen lake slowly being thawed out by the beginnings of spring.

. . .

A tree finds an odd place to grow.

. . .

Chantel, Michelle, and I find ourselfs at the end of our journey, that took about two hours or more. We check out the old barn that is right near her house.
