Rubredoxin Structure
Rubredoxin (1caa.pdb) is an iron-sulfur protein that functions in electron transport. This is the oxidized form from the bacterium, Clostridium pasteurianum.
The series of b-meanders diagrammed in the text is seen here to be interupted by (distorted) a-helical segments and coil regions.

The starting Display is Ribbons; the Color is Structure.
The amino and carboxyl termini are labeled.
Viewing Tip: "Show" the Fe3+ atom. Next, select the Cys residues; display them as Ball & Stick; and color them CPK. Then zoom for a closer look at how the four Cys residues complex the iron atom.
