* Music * Simply just something I can't live without... especially classical music. My favorite is the Mozart's requiem... though many other pieces come close. The most beautiful voice I have heard belongs to Karen Carpenter and the most romantic song, is hands down, "Have You Ever Really Loved a Woman?" by Bryan Adams. I have also dreamed to be able to play the piano since I was a little girl... but that dream has yet to be fulfilled though I have somehow known to play a melody by hearing... hardly an accomplishment, but it's something that I am very happy about. I have also been an alto section leader for a chorus about 180 talented voices back in high school... boy, I really miss singing.
* Reading * Another thing I can't live without... my book collection can probably bury me many times. :)
*EMS* July 10th, 1998 - about 5pm... my mother and I found my father vomitting a lot of blood in our bathroom. I called 911 and the paramedics came... then I spent the next 14 hours in the ER with my family where my father was under very critical condition. Luckily, he survived, with a surgery no less. I made a vow that I would know what to do should an medical emergency ever arises, even when it involves someone I don't know.
I started my basic training on CPR, and Standard First Aid with the team of CMU EMS. Then, I took more classes to become an Emergency Medical Technician and a Paramedic. Unfortuntely, my current schedule does not allow me to spend time in this area as much as I would like to. Hopefully, that will change soon.
*Volunteer Work*
Nothing makes me feel better than sensing the happiness or comfort on another
human being and knowing that I have been part of the cause, even if it's just a
very tiny part. I don't ever believe that I have the ability to really
change the world... but being able to see the smile on someone's else face is
enough of a difference for me.
At one point, I was active in three volunteering organizations at CMU... but sadly, I don't have the time anymore. They all have good purposes:
Alpha Phi Omega
Circle-K
CMU EMS
*Computers* Well, I wouldn't have chosen ECE if I didn't like computers. However, I always feel that my knowledge in this area is not worth glossing over... simply because I am surrounded by true computer whizes... but in general, anything involving computers is something I am interested to learn about.
More Interest: cooking, knitting, keepsake collection and others I can't think of just now :)
