CMU Graduate Students Children's Club
CMU Graduate Students Children's Club To be organized in the Fall, this
non-funded organization will meet (ir)regularly to provide a forum for parents
and children to meet and socialize. The idea came about from the formation of
the Engineering and Public Policy (EPP) Kid's Club, a group of parents within
the EPP department who decided they needed some friends for support during
graduate school. If it can work on the department level, then why not on the
university level?
The club is just getting started, so volunteers to get things going and ideas
for events are welcome. One idea is a monthly birthday party for all children
(and moms and dads!) with birthdays. Another purpose is to provide a support
network for parents, especially new-to-CMU parents, in case of emergency
childcare or health issues. For now, the GSA site will serve as the Club's
website until they get on their feet. Continue to check back for new
information, or
sign up to be on the emailing list.
