or you could use this little fact to entertain yourself.
Initially, he decided he would make a flash website that has awesome graphics and it will blow the mind out of anybody doing background checking on him, for example, potential recruiters.
Then he realized that he is no graphic designer, and the only decent graphic designer he knows is this cute girl who displayed a frustrating amount of lack of interest in him. So he figured he'd train himself in fine art and make his return some other day.
Unfortunately, he has yet seen that day, and it does not appear to be a realizable goal in the near future, due to his deep entrenchment in computer graphics and noninspirational routines at school, which is named after a famous robber baron of Irish descent, and the Secretary of the Treasury during the Great Depression. So the idea of a flash website with awesome graphics came to a halt.
But then he searched himself and to his great dissatification, discovered that Zeyang Li is a name favored by many parents and abused by most of their children. The record includes a guy who uses a grosslly masculine avatar in his msn profile, underaged tennis champion, underaged ping pong champion, a woman whose facebook profile ranked higher than his, a bady who blogs, and other creatures of unkown identies. And they all appeared a lot more existential than him. So he again decided that no time should be wasted before he could give a proper definition to this name, at least it should not be a guy who uses a grosslly masculine avatar in his msn profile.
But still, he cannot draw, and without that his website would look dull, like all his Computer Science professors' websites, which have few pictures and long lists of academic publications. The difference will be the long lists of publications that he does not have.
He then thought about what he can do, and there are not many. He can program, like fluid simulator, particle system, raytracer, shaders... but none of those could run fast enough on a browser to be of any use in this rather confined situation. He can also write, but not quite in a language that's not native to him, and his past attempts had invariably proved this point. This is the attempt after all those failures. This may as well be one of them...
In case you wonder, yes, he reads Douglas Adams.
