Research

Negative Emotion and Memory: This was an individual project that I undertook for a research class at CMU. My hypothesis was that negative content in an object ellicited higher retention of the overall content. Read the paper to find out about the process, subjects, and analysis of the data. View my presentation slideshow for a quick synopsis of the results.

Gaming Through the Looking Glass of Evolutionary Psychology: A paper I wrote for Jesse Schell's Game Design course. It focuses on human instinctual urges and how they relate to videogame. Read the paper here.

My Game Designer's Toolbox: Also for my Game Design course, my assignment was to list 100 games that I have play since the ago of 5; giving a short deescription of my subjective reaction to them and what I can learn as a Game Designer from them. See my toolbox here. *Note: Some description cells must be expanded to read the entire description.

Redoing Carnegie Mellon's Undergraduate Registration ProcessOne of my tasks for this semester in CMU's HCI program is to evaluate CMU's registration process. At the end of the semester I am to present my data along with a prototype of my redesigned system. While I have obtained much data on the subject, here is just a sample: Cultural models that show influences of different objects on undergraduate advisers, psychology program managers, students and a consolidated model of them all.
