Food

Only the best and most the authentic Asian restaurants make it on this list.

Ka Mei, 2209 Murray Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15217. As of January, 2006, this is run by the original owners of Tasty. The food tastes just like the original Tasty's, and always good. $$ cash only.

Rose Tea Cafe, 5874 1/2 Forbes Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15217. Best Taiwanese food in Pittsburgh. My favorite is the Taiwanese Chunk Chicken and the Tarrot Root Milk Bubble Tea. $$.

Saigon Tokyo, 320 Atwood St., Pittsburgh, PA 15213.  Best Vietnamese pho in Pittsburgh. Ask for extra meat. It can't compare to the ones you find in California, but still good nonetheless. Better than Tram's Kitchen or Pho Minh. $.

Orient Kitchen, 4808 Baum Boulevard, Pittsburgh, PA 15213.  Great Cantonese food. Great seafood. $$.

Pacific Ring, 1900 Murray Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15217.  Cantonese style dimsum and food. Only get items from the Chinese menu. Karaoke on weekends. $$.

Little Asia, 301 S Craig St, Pittsburgh, PA 15213. Ask for the Chinese menu, which is only available during dinner. Sichuan style food. $$.

Korea Garden, 414 Semple Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15213. Best Korean food in Pittsburgh. $$.

China Star, 100 McIntyre Square or 7900 McKnight Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15237. Best Sichuan food in Pittsburgh. $$.

We asked them to build a tie wall for us and they did a really lousy job. Cut corners everywhere. Instead of replacing the original old stone retaining wall with a tie wall, they built the tie wall in front of the stone wall and collapsed the stone wall behind it. Now, it looks like a mess. Further, they didn't even build the tie to the full length of the stone wall. We have about 2 yards of the original stone wall on either side, the tie wall in the middle, and the collapsed stone wall behind it. When we found out that they weren't building the wall like we wanted, we asked them about it. They said that the job was harder than they expected, and this was the best they could do. These people are not real professionals. They are not honest so do not hire them.

I later learned that they were revoked of their membership from the Better Business Bureau in 2006.
