Hieropolis: The Arch of Domitian opens on to the main street ("Plateia") of the area.
Hieropolis was known in Hellenistic times (2nd and 3rdC BC) for its thermal baths and textiles. It thrived in Roman times and was destroyed by an earthquake in the 6thC AD.
