Greenwood Furnace State Park is a recreational park based on the grounds of a 19th Century charcoal iron furnace. Located near State College, Pennsylvania, it is operated by the State Parks division of the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources.

During the annual tourist season, park rangers lead guided tours of the Greenwood Furnace grounds. This truncated stone pyramid was one of two charcoal-fueled blast furnaces that operated at the site.

Although the outside of the furnace stack was a four-sided pyramid, the actual stack was shaped like a bottle. From inside the base of the blast furnace, this view looks up to the furnace top from the hearth.
