The National Canal Museum is the only PHMC heritage site to possess "national" status. It is located in Easton, PA. and consists of a downtown indoor museum and a suburban outdoor canal boat ride on a restored portion of the Lehigh Canal.

This lock marks the far end of the canal boat tour. The view is toward the west, from which Anthracite coal and other goods arrived for shipment south to Philadelphia on the Delaware Canal.

Turning around, the visitor sees this beautiful panorama, including the lock tender's house.
