Approval of the Minutes: Minutes from 2/13 were approved. Ex-Officio Reports: AB (Martin Dixon): This weekÕs movies are Sunset Boulevard, Seven, and Them! On February 23, Rob Weinstein will perform in Scotland Yard. On March 9, a trip to the opera Cozi Van Tuti, and on March 16, a trip to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame will be sponsored. Faculty Senate (Barbara Prevost): This week the reappointment of President Mehrabian was discussed. Student Affairs (Barbara Prevost): If you have not turned in your Information Sheet, please do so. As part of Black History Month, a Soup and Substance lecture on the African-American experience at Carnegie Mellon will be held on February 22 from 1:30 to 2:30 in the Student Center. Rick Miller will be speaking in Mudge Lounge on February 22 at 8:30. The Diversity Roundtable will be holding a discussion entitle ÒMen vs. Women, the Final BattleÓ on February 21. Student Activities (Anne Wichner): No report. SDC (Katrina Lutz): No report. President (Gina Schuyler): There will be an Academic Advisory Committee meeting is scheduled for Thursday, February 22 from 7 PM to 9 PM in Room 218, Student Center. Treasurer (Ray Ardire): No report. Committee Reports: Academic Affairs (Bryon Krug): No report. Campus Affairs (Beth Abramson): It looks as if we will be installing a time capsule in the new University Center. We will be meeting with Residence Life to discuss a Spirit Week before Carnival. Katie Hart met with the Bicycle Committee and the committee has finalized a proposal which will be taken to various organizations for input and approval. Jim Buck is looking into a MAC machine in the Margaret Morrison complex and Latoya Williams is looking into complaints about the hours of dining facilities. Funding and Recognition (Brian Mueller): Budget packets are due on February 21. We are looking to consolidate the PSFB into the Activities Board. The Astronomy Club will be coming up for recognition tonight. Human Resources (Matt Bembenick): No report. Public Relations (Mike Rosenthal): The Senate column in the Tartan will be resuming shortly. Chair (Brenden Mielke): Filling Vacancies - CIT Seat: Motion tabled by hand vote. SIA Seat - Marchel Alexandrovich: Motion passed by hand vote 20-0. Election Dates - April 18, 19, 20: Motion passed by hand vote 20-0. New Business from Committee: S96-009 - Non-Funded Recognition of Astronomy Club: Approved by hand vote 20-0.
