Forward

The papers in this volume were presented at the Symposium on Trends in Unstructured Mesh Generation at McNu '97. The Symposium was made up of four sessions and comprised a total of 18 papers. A wide variety of topics were covered, including refinement, mesh improvement techniques, mesh-geometry interaction, automatic sizing, mesh quality, adaptivity, parallel implementations, boundary layer meshing, data structures, and semi-automatic hex meshing.

We would like to thank ANSYS Inc. for their support of this symposium. We would also like to thank the reviewers for their thoughtful comments and criticisms in the review process, which have greatly contributed to the improvement of the papers. Finally we would like to thank the authors for their cooperation in submitting papers of high quality to this volume and for their willingness to share their experience with others at the conference.
